Glass Platters
glass platter held by 3 legs 27cm x 35cm
Jackie Richardson's glass platters are all one off pieces of art which offer the possibility of being functional at the same time. Each platter is held up by a slumped glass leg which are affectionately refer to as 'nipples'. These sell through galleries as well as out of my her own studio.

The techniques used are kiln based and normally comprise of 3 layers of 4mm float glass which are interspersed with layers of glass frit (granules of coloured compatible glass) and glass confetti (slithers of coloured compatible glass). The glass is then fired whilst the temperature is carefully monitored to produce variations in fusing and slumping, ensuring that each piece is an individual and unique form.
